AgentTab: a 402-aware agent with voice approval, versioned rules, auto rollback
schwentker · x · 2026-10-15
The author shares the architecture of AgentTab, a MongoDB hackathon project: an agent that reads HTTP 402 posted prices, and asks aloud (via LiveKit + ElevenLabs voice) before changing its own rules when a seller changes a deal.
The diagram shows two paths: page/controls go through a Cloudflare proxy, while voice connects directly to a self-hosted LiveKit media server on Fly.io on a tiny CPU. Backend is a Node app on Render wired to MongoDB Atlas (memory), Tempo testnet (ledger/payments), and ElevenLabs. Key design: the agent proposes but money decisions stay in code — hard ceilings, versioned rules in MongoDB, auto-rollback if a new deal costs more (a demo shows v2 tab pricing rolled back to v1 pay-per-article).
