Lost 5 Claude accounts in 2 days: payment method and chat content drive bans

After losing 5+ Claude accounts and hundreds of dollars in two days, the author ran controlled experiments and found the biggest ban factors are payment method (previously banned cards get banned almost instantly) and what you discuss with the agent (sensitive content triggers bans within hours); IP, timezone and language matter far less. They suspect Anthropic runs a Jev-like sequence model for detection, making local fake-environment tricks transparent in usage patterns. Most X guides on avoiding bans push VPS referral links — a conflict of interest. Paying via Apple-bound card is safest since you can refund after a ban.
