After losing 5 Claude accounts, one user's controlled tests show what actually triggers bans
jiayuan_jy · x · 2026-10-15
After losing 5+ Claude accounts and hundreds of dollars in two days, the author ran controlled tests on what triggers bans: payment method (previously banned cards get near-instant bans) and chat content with the agent (sensitive topics lead to hour-level bans) matter most, while IP, timezone and language matter little. Most anti-ban guides on X carry VPS referral links; the safest setup is paying via an Apple-linked card, which still allows refunds after a ban.
