Ex-contributor slams X's spam-filled Trending Stories, says fix was offered two years ago

Developer ivanbezdomny criticizes X's Trending Stories for being riddled with spam: the topics are roughly right, but the quality is nowhere near good enough to justify push notifications, which would require many things working correctly rather than "meh good enough".
He argues spam detection at the tweet level and tagging bad authors would be "very easy" with existing tech, but apparently isn't a priority — and claims he offered to fix Trending Stories two years ago, only to see it treated as an afterthought throughout.
