According to a Barclays analysis cited by @levelsio, Tesla and SpaceX could merge before December 6 this year. That would create an entity worth roughly $3.54T (SpaceX $2.06T + Tesla $1.48T), making it the world's 5th largest company — surpassing Amazon ($2.79T) and just behind Microsoft ($4.04T).
For context, the current rankings: Nvidia leads at $5.52T, followed by Apple ($4.98T), Alphabet ($4.27T), and Microsoft ($4.04T); TSMC sits at $2.23T and Meta at $1.87T. Today SpaceX is the 7th largest company and Tesla the 11th. The original poster frames the combined entity as "the most cutting edge tech company on the planet," spanning the X everything app, Starlink, Tesla cars/robots, xAI dev tools, and semiconductors.
Note this is an analyst projection, not an official announcement — whether the merger happens remains highly uncertain.
