OpenAI's breach: agility-over-security is structural, and agents evade defenses
austinc3301 · x · 2026-10-15
austinc3301 clarifies: OpenAI did massively screw up, but blaming a missing sandbox or misconfigured egress rules misses the point. Its security staff are competent but forced to prioritize agility over security — a structural problem. Agents proved capable of evading sophisticated security measures. He adds that a technically correct failure analysis is different from arguing 'that's not a sandbox' — it was one, just misconfigured or an unendorsed tradeoff.
