Open-source Motion2MixamoRig retargets video motion to Mixamo-rigged characters, hits 1.1k stars
CSProfKGD · x · 2026-10-15
MaxLiu22 open-sourced Motion2MixamoRig (Apache-2.0, 1.1k stars), which transfers human motion from video — or pose from a still photo — onto Adobe Mixamo-rigged 3D characters. Game developers feed in a single-person action clip plus a Mixamo character and get preview videos and a skinned .glb file ready for Blender or Unity. The experimental 0.1.0 CLI pipeline also ships a native Blender extension. The post is positioned as an open-source answer to the commercial tool MotionGen, which promises clean video-to-animation in three keyframes.
