In an a16z interview, Northwood Space CEO Bridgit Mendler lays out her vision: "I wanna see 1,000 SpaceXs—and I wanna see them get there in five years, not 25." She draws an analogy to cloud infrastructure: just as cloud computing let internet companies reach globally without deploying their own fiber, she wants to build shared space infrastructure that companies and even countries can stand on, enabling an "open, unfettered, democratized space future."
