Epic vibe-coded its new games launcher, claims it's faster than Steam

Epic has shipped a Preview build of a new Epic Games Launcher, admitting it "vibe coded" the rewrite. Store GM Martin Keely says the small team started from scratch, using AI to write and review features on a fresh tech stack — replicating old functionality but not old code. The efficiency gains let it launch faster across Windows and Mac, with a Linux version planned, and Epic claims the new launcher is faster and more responsive than before.
