Claude Desktop 2.37337.1 Linux regression: 'Local environment no longer available' on every new session
rhyudek1 · ghdev · 2026-10-15
After upgrading Claude Desktop from 2.31226.1 to 2.37337.1 via apt on Ubuntu 26.04 (GNOME/Wayland), clicking "+" next to any project group in the Code tab sidebar triggers a toast: "Couldn't switch environment: the Local environment is no longer available."
The session is still created in the correct folder, but the warning appears every time. The reporter traced the persisted ccd-session-store in Local Storage, which keeps writing "worker":{"type":"environment","id":"local"} — suggesting the new build no longer recognizes its own local environment ID. Flagged as a regression, possibly related to issues #102125 and #102088, with 2 comments so far.
