Meta builds AI research scaffold for health science, with access to 5M de-identified health records

Meta AI announced an exploration of AI-accelerated health science research: a human-led research scaffold powered by Muse Spark 1.3 and Muse Wonder, with access to 5M retrospective de-identified electronic health records and public data.
A cohort of medical experts used the system for original research, hypothesis generation, code execution and manuscript drafting while keeping full authority over scientific decisions. Meta notes health data science, unlike formal sciences, depends on imperfect real-world data and consequential choices about cohorts, variables and causal assumptions — hence the human-led design.
