Meta taps Muse models to build AI research scaffold on 5M health records
_jasonwei · x · 2026-10-15
Meta announced an effort to accelerate health science research with AI. Built on Muse Spark 1.3 and Muse Wonder with access to 5M retrospective de-identified electronic health records plus public data, the system is a human-led research scaffold: a cohort of medical experts used it to conduct original research, accelerate hypothesis generation, run code, and draft manuscripts while keeping full authority over scientific decisions. Meta notes health data science, unlike formal sciences, hinges on imperfect real-world data and choices about cohorts, variables, and causal assumptions.
