Open-source MCP server lets Claude Code drive Mac apps, 12x cheaper than rivals

_Ar5en1c_ · reddit · 2026-10-15

Built with Claude Code and MIT-licensed (a Ghost OS fork), YouxPC exposes a Mac window to any MCP client as a text list of accessibility elements with stable ids, so the agent clicks in the background via pcclick index:"e7" without moving the mouse; ambiguous button names are refused, and multi-action calls are supported.

Benchmark (17 tasks × 3 runs, all driven by Claude Haiku 5.5 on one M1):

Slightly less reliable than Cua Driver but half the time and 1/12th the tokens; on par with Playwright MCP on the 13 web-only tasks. Caveats: macOS only, author wrote 7/17 tasks, VS Code's accessibility tree is near-empty. Code: github.com/Ar5en1c/youxpc
