100% physics-simulated grand piano may be the best synthesized piano ever, says dev

A developer unveiled a concert grand piano sound built entirely from physics simulation — no recordings, no microphone measurements. Geometry, materials, moving parts and acoustic radiation are all modeled, and the author claims it's the best-sounding synthetic piano he's heard. He applied the same approach to a full drum kit, with cymbals modeled from an estimated real Zildjian splash geometry and literature-based B20 bronze properties. Extreme quality comes via offline pre-rendering to WAV.
