Meta's Muse Wonder costs a quarter of Fable, but early testers call it slow with ugly UI
vista8 · x · 2026-10-15
Meta's new Muse Wonder and Wonder Full models are positioned at the Fable/Astra tier but priced far lower: $4/M input and $20/M output tokens, versus $10/$50 for Fable and Astra. Wonder is served via Meta's API, integrated into Muse Code, and will later power Muse, Meta's personal agent. The stronger Wonder Full reportedly approaches Opus 5.5 in everyday performance but is limited to Muse Code subscribers at $50/month.
Blogger Ben tried both: the mid-tier Wonder is more verbose than Wonder Full, both are slow, and the UI they generate looks bad. He didn't run them on serious coding tasks and concluded he won't use them again. The underwhelming hands-on contrasts sharply with the confidence of Zuck and Alexander Wang's recent Cheeky Pint podcast appearance about Meta's climb to the frontier.
