Welsh politician caught using smart glasses as teleprompter in Senedd debate
nordicinst · x · 2026-10-15
Per The Guardian, Welsh Senedd member Jason O'Connell is suspected of using smart glasses as a teleprompter during a September 30 debate — periodic flashing in his lenses preceded five minutes of speech without glancing at notes. The glasses belong to the category popularized by Meta. Other members say explicit guidance on smart-glasses use in chambers is needed urgently; there's no suggestion the glasses were recording. The case raises questions about whether EU AI watchdogs might demand "eye-contact audits."
