AI researcher Arvind Narayanan named endowed professor in surprise appointment

Arvind Narayanan, the prominent AI researcher, announced he has been appointed to the Bertram and Carole Siegel Professorship of Computer Science. He noted his work has long been more legible outside the academy than inside it, so he is delighted by the recognition from his university and grateful for the Siegel Family Endowment's support. He learned of the appointment via an email out of the blue.
