OpenAI puts compute CTO Uday Ruddarraju in charge of infrastructure as Sachin Katti exits

Per Bloomberg, OpenAI has put compute CTO Uday Ruddarraju in charge of the infrastructure business previously run by Sachin Katti, who will leave the role in the coming weeks and stay on as an adviser roughly a year after joining from Intel in November 2025. Ruddarraju came from xAI in July 2025, where he led infrastructure engineering for xAI and X.
