Agent team study: 84% of messages still go to the lead, workers rarely talk to each other

In the next installment of the multi-agent team experiments, researchers gave every agent a tool to message any other agent directly. Most communication still flowed up: 84% of messages went to the lead (interim findings, proposed interfaces, test failures, questions), and workers rarely messaged each other even when told to treat each other as collaborators.
- Reward stayed roughly flat for stronger models with messaging and dropped for the weakest one
- Authors' explanation: each worker gets an independent piece of the task, so there's little to share
- Next: testing whether communication matters more when agents share a goal and can check each other's progress
