Inspired by Recursive Language Models: a bare ipython shell as the fifth harness
yb2698 · x · 2026-10-14
Inspired by Alex Zhang's Recursive Language Models work, where LLMs use an ipython session directly, the author adopts it as the minimalist harness for this comparison: ipython is powerful by itself — you can run bash commands and interesting operations from inside the session. They add a fifth harness: a bare ipython shell with a very simple system prompt, alongside the four open-source harnesses. Links to RLM papers included.
