Jailbroken PS5 runs Qwen 3.8 27B at ~20 tok/s via llama.cpp, project open-sourced
kimmonismus · x · 2026-10-14
Developer cobanov open-sourced PS5LM: llama.cpp ported to run natively on a jailbroken PlayStation 5, loading any GGUF model. First target is the newest open Qwen 3.8 (27B, hybrid Gated DeltaNet attention), reportedly hitting 20 tok/s on the console's GPU. A single payload, ps5lm.elf, opens a model library in the PS5 browser to download, run and chat with models (small ones up to 1.6 GB for now). GPL-3.0 licensed; requires PS5 firmware 7.00–13.60. Full demo and docs at ps5lm.cobanov.dev.
