TextFold exports five reading levels plus the source PDF into one standalone HTML file
Lopsided_Scarcity979 · reddit · 2026-10-14
The developer of TextFold, an Apache 2.0 reader, shipped a standalone HTML export that bundles five reading levels (Full/Brief keep original sentences; Key/Takeaway/Topic are model-generated), translations, notes, highlights, and optionally the original PDF — the exported file opens without the TextFold server and can show the PDF side-by-side with the active paragraph highlighted. Level generation still requires a model via Ollama or a hosted provider; the demo uses prepared content and doesn't show generation latency or summary accuracy. Demo material is the Recursive Language Models paper (Zhang, Kraska, Khattab). Code: github.com/chenxiachan/textfold.
