Google to gate Gemini Pro models in Search AI Mode behind AI Pro plan from Nov 2026
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-10-14
A Google One service email shared online shows Google will restrict Pro model selection in both the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search to Google AI Pro subscribers and above, starting November 13, 2026.
AI Plus subscribers will still get the latest Flash-Lite and Flash models, and prior Pro-model chats can be continued with a different model. It's another sign of Google tightening the tiers of its AI subscription stack, now extending the paywall into Search's AI Mode.
