AIPOCH's open-source Open-Science workbench: reproducible AI research sessions
ahuja_priyank · x · 2026-10-14
AIPOCH's Open-Science (4.8k GitHub stars) is an open-source AI research workbench for scientific research and agent workflows. It's a local-first, model-agnostic desktop app for macOS/Windows/Linux with extensible skills, MCP tools and connectors, Python/R execution, and traceable artifacts — aiming to make AI-assisted research reproducible and inspectable.
Its core thesis: research shouldn't just be easier to create, but easier to inspect, share, and build on. It introduces the .science session package format bundling conversation context, selected files, evidence, execution records and literature metadata. Recipients can import the package, inspect the original read-only work, then fork it or start a new session. Export options include PDF/Markdown/ZIP/.science with Essential/Full/Custom levels.
