A study of 1,200 answers across 8 AI engines finds that which sources AI engines cite depends heavily on what you sell.
- For business software, 22.6% of answers with sources cited review sites like G2; for everyday products only 1.6%
- Everyday products lean far more on publications (51.9% vs 30.3%) and YouTube (14.3% vs 6.4%)
- Takeaway: same engines, same method, but very different places to show up — brands should figure out which side they're on before choosing channels
