Prompt trick: expand a headshot into a half-body portrait, head intact
sujingshen · x · 2026-10-14
A Chinese prompt being shared that converts a small avatar into a 1:1 half-body portrait (handy for couple avatars), built on the principle of "outpainting + body completion" rather than changing the pose:
- Head stays untouched: tilt angle, features, hairstyle, accessories and glasses must exactly match the original; scale it down, centered and slightly high, head 60% of frame height.
- Composition rules: 1:1 canvas, original solid background; add neck, shoulders and upper body at 1.2x head width — only the head tilts, the body stays straight; crop at chest or upper abdomen.
- Clothing continuity: extend the visible colors, collar and details downward; add no new accessories, patterns or text.
The poster notes it works well for generating couple avatars with wider usability than the original headshot.
