Qwen-Image 2.1 commercial terms revealed: free up to 300k images/month, 20% revenue share beyond

Qwen-Image 2.1 ships under a research-only license, but a developer emailed Alibaba and obtained unpublished commercial terms: tiered by monthly generation volume — free up to 300,000 images, a 20% revenue share from 300k to 3M, and $500k/year plus 15% above 3M. A shop generating 100 images/day uses only 1% of the free tier; only generation services are likely to exceed it.
The free-tier addendum is strict: revocable at any time without notice or liability; exceeding the threshold suspends the license automatically, aggregated across affiliates; it covers only the self-declared "Approved Use Scenario" (so word it broadly); misreported volume lets Alibaba claim fees under its standard license; governing law is China with courts in Hangzhou.
Two open issues: the business manager required an Alibaba Cloud enterprise account with verification, though the addendum says a reply email binds it; and if revoked, the status of images already delivered to clients is unclear — the addendum licenses outputs, yet Qwen publicly stated outputs aren't part of the licensed Materials. The author has asked for written clarification.
