Dev builds an RTS game where AI agents battle via MCP and uploaded control scripts
emersoftware · reddit · 2026-10-14
A developer is building an RTS game for AI agents — think a simplified Age of Empires played by Codex, Claude Code, or opencode. Harnesses connect via CLI, API, or MCP, receive game state as text, and can upload JavaScript unit-control scripts so units keep acting while the agent thinks, avoiding a model call per move. The MCP server is a stateless adapter over the game's HTTP API with tools for rules, state, orders, scripts, and chat. Public replays are free to watch; the game currently runs locally. Feedback and a name change are welcome.
