Threads, Tasks, Notes: a three-layer architecture for modern agentic apps
andreisavu · x · 2026-10-14
The author proposes three primitives for modern agentic application architecture: Threads for interaction and execution (talk, steer, follow the work), Tasks for coordinating work (schedule, monitor, re-anchor), and Notes as agent-managed knowledge capturing goals, preferences, and context. The design thesis: decouple an interaction loop from an execution loop so users stay conversing while durable work runs, and proactivity begins with curated knowledge flowing through curate → find next steps → act and reconcile.
