The 2nd "Neuro for AI & AI for Neuro" workshop takes place Feb 22–23, 2027 in Montreal alongside AAAI 2027, with the call for papers now open.
- Neuro→AI: translating cortical microcircuit principles (E-I balance, sparse modular coding, dendritic nonlinearities) into more efficient multimodal architectures.
- AI→Neuro: AI-driven analysis of calcium imaging, electrophysiology and behavior, plus gradient-based training of biologically realistic models.
- New lens this edition: context-dependent brain plasticity as inspiration for continual learning in foundation models.
- Organizers include Asim Iqbal, Shinya Ito, Reza Abbasi-Asl, Sophia Sanborn, and Anton Arkhipov. The first edition at AAAI 2026 received 76 submissions, with proceedings in PMLR vol. 308.
