Indie dev cuts homepage job list load from 1.8s to 0.1s in performance push
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-10-14
Developer UpperClassArmz shared a performance optimization round for his site, with before/after production numbers: the homepage jobs list dropped from 0.8–1.8s to 0.1s; opening a job page went from 1.2–1.7s to 0.7s; card images went from 0.1–1s each (oversized) to 0.05s after first view with proper right-sizing; post-deploy, Cloudflare keeps serving cached images instead of cold-loading everything. His takeaway: new features are fun, but performance optimization is addictive.
