Dev spends an afternoon with Claude Opus 5.5 building a working watermill at 46% efficiency
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-10-14
A developer spent an afternoon with Claude Opus 5.5 figuring out how a watermill actually works and got the whole mechanism running: water filling the buckets, turning the wheel, gears stepping 6 rpm up to 120 rpm, and stones grinding grain. The wheel runs at around 46% efficiency versus 60–80% for real watermills — pretty close.
