Tencent's WeCom integrates WorkBuddy AI agent with access to messages, docs and meetings
APPSO · wechat · 2026-10-14
Tencent has officially integrated its WorkBuddy office agent into WeCom (WeChat Work). The agent appears as a bot in chat lists and gets access to ten capability permissions — messages, documents, meetings, cloud drive — so it can act on real work context without app switching.
APPSO tested it early:
- Monthly reports: assign the task in one message; WorkBuddy pulls the actual work context instead of requiring manual data gathering.
- Group creation: tell it whom to invite and it pre-fills the WeCom group confirmation.
- Self-improving agents: it distilled a newsroom's topic-selection criteria from chat history into a reusable Skill, and can schedule daily tip-sheet reports.
- Project management: generates progress reports and kanban boards from docs/chats/sheets, flags at-risk tasks and auto-mentions owners — results flow back via messages, groups and the cloud drive with zero copy-paste.
Admins can assign access via the existing org structure, set permissions and manage usage; existing CRM/ticketing systems connect via connectors. The pitch: AI joins the environment employees already work in, rather than demanding a new workflow.
