Exa hits $100M annualized revenue after 3 years of near-10x annual growth

AI search company Exa announced it has passed $100M in annualized revenue, growing nearly 10x per year for three straight years — about 1000x total. Paul Graham noted that while 10x-in-a-year startups are common, sustaining it for three years is nearly unheard of.
- Now serving 2 billion+ requests a month from 200k+ teams
- Customers include personal agents, AI labs, coding agents, and GTM agents
- Exa built its search engine for agents, which write long, complex queries and need the world's data beyond the open web
- The team predicts agents will search 1000x more than humans by 2030, with information becoming the bottleneck to agent performance
