Asimov open-sources Menlo SDK for its Asimov 1 humanoid robot
freelerobot · x · 2026-10-14
Asimov has open-sourced Menlo SDK (Apache-2.0, Python 3.12+), letting developers control Asimov 1 humanoid robot movements, read its state, and use its camera, microphone and speaker in their own applications. It's also releasing Asimov Edge, the on-robot software that validates incoming commands and arbitrates control between your app, a gamepad and other controllers.
Suggested uses include motion replay, VR-headset teleoperation, and running trained policies on real hardware. The SDK is on pip as menlo-sdk with full source and docs on GitHub. Photos show the robot unboxed, standing on a waterfront plaza, and a batch of anodized aluminum parts — a sign of small-batch production.
