xAI says legacy SuperGrok Heavy plans can't be restored after billing merge mistake
RexDouglass · x · 2026-10-14
A user accidentally downgraded their discounted (67% off) legacy SuperGrok Heavy annual plan to Plus by clicking through a checkout that billed an extra top-up. xAI Billing Support confirmed the change is permanent: account unification and switching to X billing cannot be reversed, "neither Support nor Engineering can process this," and subscription payments are non-refundable. The checkout flow gave no explicit warning that it would cancel the Heavy plan. The author warns remaining legacy Heavy users not to touch their subscription settings.
