Meta CFO warned Zuckerberg the superintelligence bet could end 'very, very bad'

A report says Meta CFO Susan Li pulled Zuckerberg aside at a Hawaii exec offsite to warn that failure of the unnamed model would be financially devastating — before anyone had seen it. The bet was already locked: Prometheus in Ohio past a gigawatt, Hyperion in Louisiana scaling to 5GW, planned in 2023-24 before the new lab existed. Alexandr Wang called it the opposite of lean startup. Rob Leclerc says Zuckerberg's answer on the downside scenario was the most interesting risk take he's heard from a hyperscaler this year.
