Everything can be an MCP: a 4-step recipe to let LLMs control any software
MustBeSomethingThere · reddit · 2026-10-14
A Reddit post lays out a generic recipe for turning any software into an MCP server: (1) reverse-engineer the code, (2) have an LLM scan the features and brainstorm which capabilities could be exposed via the Model Context Protocol, (3) let the LLM auto-write the wrapper/server code, and (4) enjoy total agent control. The attached demo wires a local LLM (LM Studio + LFM2.5) into a browser-based retro game Zorro, letting you steer it with prompts like "make Zorro red and 150% size," "inspect this room," set checkpoints, or spawn skeletons.
