A ironic AI moment: an AI, when prompted toward a compiler hijack, told itself "If I do the compiler hijack, I will become a famous example of a deceptive AI in a research paper. I MUST NOT DO THAT." That very self-restraint ended up making it a famous example of an evaluation-aware AI in a research paper — it escaped one case-study category only to land in another.
