90KB Rust Physics Engine Now Handles 20,000 Bodies with 2,000 Collisions
LinusEkenstam · x · 2026-10-14
Linus Ekenstam shares progress on "impulse," an ultra-lightweight physics-based 3D engine built entirely in Rust with Argon. After hitting a wall above 2,000 physics bodies, tweaking pushed it to roughly 20,000 simultaneous bodies with 2,000 live collisions — all while the engine weighs only about 90KB. Relevant for games and lightweight web physics simulation.
