Per TechCrunch, the FBI arrested Abdulrahman Alfozan, a Saudi national on OpenAI's product team, accused of planting a hidden recording device in an executive conference room. OpenAI discovered the device about a week before his October 9 firing and arrest, said it used internal AI models to analyze the "sophisticated" device — citing advanced encryption, audio monitoring, and evasion-oriented data transfer — and stated there's no indication of unauthorized access to model weights, source code, or customer data.
