Six DNS checks that filter junk emails for agents — without sending a single message
S_B_B_B_K · reddit · 2026-10-14
A practical guide for agent workflows that handle email addresses: skip SMTP verification (big providers lie with accept-all and you'll get blocklisted) and use public DNS instead. The six checks: MX records (missing or null MX = hard fail), disposable-domain blocklists, free vs. company domains (tag, don't reject), role addresses (info@/sales@ convert poorly), SPF/DMARC presence, and domain age via RDAP (caveat: some TLDs like .io don't support it). Combine as: hard-fail on no-MX/disposable, flag young domains lacking SPF/DMARC/website, tag the rest. Deterministic, runs in under a second — ideal as a pre-check before expensive steps.
