Gemini 4 Argon tops CrusaderBench strategy-game benchmark, as author jokes of its management crisis
Hesamation · x · 2026-10-14
Benchmarker Hesamation reports that Gemini 4 Argon ranked 1st on his self-built CrusaderBench, beating Opus 5.5. The benchmark has models grow an economy in the strategy game Stronghold Crusader, testing strategic reasoning, planning, computer use and tool use. A screenshot shows Argon's detailed planning of 22 idle peasants, mill/bakery capacity math, and key decisions for the final 5m47s.
Argon reportedly praised the benchmark as "one of the best-designed game benchmarks I have encountered" — while the author mockingly hints at a management crisis behind the model (unverified).
