A simple trick to keep your Claude Code orchestrator thread from losing context
kevinkern · x · 2026-10-14
A practical workflow tip for agent orchestration: discussing extensively inside the orchestrator thread (e.g. Opus) triggers frequent compaction, loses context, and burns usage limits.
The author's fix: spawn a separate Haiku thread called "nudge" as a discussion layer, do all exploration there, then hand conclusions back to the orchestrator (essentially a form of /side). Known downside: Haiku also loses context and needs constant reminders, but it's been working well.
