Federal prosecutors charged Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35, a Saudi national and OpenAI engineer since July 2025, with planting a recording device concealed in toilet paper, plugged into a TV's USB port in an executive conference room at OpenAI's SF headquarters, plus a second device left in an unattended bag with his wallet and ID. Found Sept 30 with encrypted contents; surveillance shows him near the room on multiple dates despite lacking access. He's charged with intercepting oral communications and remains in custody. The poster clarifies he's accused and arrested, not convicted.
