Gemini 4 Argon goes GA in GitHub Copilot, beating prior Gemini models on coding
0xkarasy · x · 2026-10-14
Google's newest frontier model Gemini 4 Argon is now generally available in GitHub Copilot, targeting complex coding, agentic workflows, and reasoning. GitHub says early testing showed it solved more tasks than previous Gemini models on every coding benchmark, with the largest gains in Copilot CLI, and that it thoroughly tests edge cases before finishing.
Availability: Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise users can select it in VS Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, the coding agent, the Copilot app, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, and Eclipse. Business/Enterprise admins control access via model policy; new models are enabled by default. Billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing. Rollout is gradual.
