NVMe reads the 7GB checkpoint in 2s, so why does ComfyUI take 30s to load?
rguerraf · reddit · 2026-10-14
On a Ryzen mini PC (24GB shared RAM, 4000 MB/s NVMe), the author finds ComfyUI's checkpoint load (unet+clip) takes 30s even though the NVMe could read the whole Anima turbo int8 safetensors in 2s, stretching a 120s generation to 160s. Attempts to keep the 7GB model resident in RAM failed; the thread asks why and how to fix it.
