Pairing Jev's tiny decision model with Claude Code cuts token costs ~30%, author says

Jev—the decision model that blew up after its September 15 launch (with OpenAI and AWS shipping their own within two weeks)—answers one question cheaply: given text and options, return one choice with probabilities. The author shows how to wire it into Claude Code so a tiny model handles trivial yes/no decisions while Claude only steps in for real reasoning.
Setup:
- Install Jev tools for Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add rashedInt32/jev-mcp, then /plugin install jev@jev-mcp for classify/score/check.
- Use jevgrep to query the codebase by question and get relevant files back instead of reading everything (npm i -g @dzhng/jev).
- Teach the agent to delegate automatically: npx skills add altryne/jevify --skill jevify.
The author measured 30% lower costs on the same tasks, and situates Jev in the debate over whether it's a new category or a rebranded classifier.
