Google Play now lets anyone run private, vibe-coded apps directly on Android

Google announced a new feature that lets users launch their own private, vibe-coded apps on their Android devices via Google Play using a standard Google account — no public publishing required.
These personal apps won't appear in Play Store search or listings and are visible only to their creator. Previously, running a self-built app on Android meant publishing to the Play Store's 3 billion users, which pushed many vibe-coders toward web apps instead. The feature removes that friction.
