Users say OpenAI's Dot agent needs more babysitting than it saves

A Reddit user detailed frustrations with OpenAI's agent product Dot, saying babysitting it takes more time than it saves:
- Weak cloud browser: sometimes can't open specific links (e.g., a PDF download) even with approvals, failing to download and upload to a database.
- Confusing file flow: after downloading a file, it can't access local Finder and asks the user to re-send the file in chat for context.
- Credentials keep expiring: after logging in and saving credentials for autonomous workflows, it still fails and requests re-login or permissions already granted.
The author calls it one of OpenAI's most frustrating releases — a rushed launch to compete with Muse — and says Muse is the better product overall.
